"Player X cannot reply to you because your status is Offline/Do Not Disturb"
I can't tell you how many times people have whispered me asking things, and I couldn't whisper back because they were playing as Offline or Do Not Disturb. If it's for a PUG I can just say something addressed to them in Local, but if I'm on their friends list all I can do is change my own status quickly and repeatedly and hope they notice. We get notifications that someone might not reply if they are Away, and that we cannot whisper them if they are Do Not Disturb or Offline; why don't they get a similar notification when they whisper someone?

Don't agree with that beacuse most of the time that kind of stuff is used for abuse. RA brats "I SET DND AND WHISPER U!!11 JAJAJAJAJA!!!".
I do however think if YOU whisper someone while you have offline/DND active, you should get a little message "Player X will be unable to respond because your online status is set to Offline/Do Not Disturb".

I disagree with the OP simply because Gaile Gray's chatbox would explode if this were implemented. Also, no automatic status change. That defeats the purpose of setting your status in the first place.

All needed would be a red cross (or similar) in the chat window to remind you that your set to Offline/Do Not Disturb.

/signed I can work with this fix.
I like using DND and offline, usually remember I am in it, but I have been in the situation where trying to trade with someone that is still set to offline too.
Anytime that I whisper someone while they can't reply I at least tell them that in my first whisper, usually also means I am not looking for a response.

Offline, I'm good with the suggestion.
DND - I often PM people when I'm on DND (i.e. team members), but don't want to be bombarded with a bunch of warning messages reminding me that I'm on DND.

Great idea. /signed for this. But no, I don't want my status changed if I'm set to offline/DND and I get PMed. If I'm set to DND, I want to be left alone. Therefore, random jerks shouldn't be allowed to disturb me where "ware u get armr" when I'm just stopping by storage.

I cannot stand the constant people who will whisper you, but they're on DnD. People like this annoy me, since they think they're so tough that they hide behind DnD and constantly insult you, while you cannot reply to them either.

That's what the ignore list is for.

/signed - A good solution for those people who.... uhhmmm.... forget that they've...what are we talking about again? Oh, yeah. I could use a reminder that I've set myself to offline/DND when trying to conduct business with others.
